Engagement Days

Engagement Days

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) provides free resources through its education programme - Fish and Kids - to schools that hold the MSC Chain of Custody certification (a traceability certificate held by your school meals provider).

With these resources, we encourage schools to host special themed engagement days to help children learn about marine sustainability and encourage them to try seafood dishes at school. The resources are designed to encourage whole-school activities and include the following:

- Free learning resources for MSC certified schools.
- Teachers pack - a curriculum linked pack which includes lesson plans, classroom activities, discussion topics and engagement ideas.
- Kitchen pack - for school cooks, including posters for the dining hall, children’s stickers and fun decorative ‘wobblers’ for the serving area.
- Assembly plans themed on the origin of seafood, the known health benefits of seafood, human impact on the oceans and ecolabels.
- Fish and Kids posters.
