Describe Me

Dogfish are a type of shark and look very similar. They have large fins and a narrow snout. Dogfish are smaller than sharks and are normally around 100cm long.

Fish Food

Dogfish eat small fish, squid and crustaceans like shrimp and crabs.

Find Me

MSC certified sustainable dogfish are currently fished from Western Canada and Eastern USA.

Dinner Time

Dogfish are eaten in the UK, France, Germany and Belgium, often under the name of ‘rock cod’, ‘rock salmon’ or ‘huss’. Often it is fried in fish and chip shops.

Fishy Fact!

Dogfish don’t actually have any bones! Their skeleton is made from cartilage which is the same substance you have in your nose!
